Everyone rants the usual stuff about avoiding oily and fried food but there are surprising other causes that are behind those nasty breakouts. Let’s have a look at them:
- YOUR DIRTY CELL PHONE :
This is the number one cause of acne in today’s scenario. Our cellphones are home to numerous bacteria courtesy our sweat, sebum, make up, and environmental dirt and dust. Make sure you sanitize your cell phones daily.
- UNCLEAN MAKE UP BRUSHES AND SPONGES :
Many of us are guilty of not cleaning our make up brushes and sponges which makes them cozy homes for all kinds of bacteria and fungi. Timely cleaning and disposal of your make up tools is a must!
- SLEEPING ON THE SAME PILLOW CASE WITHOUT FREQUENT WASHES :
This one’s specially true for those who sleep on their abdomen or in the lateral position with your faces toughing the pillow (which means majority of us ). Dirty cases will have bacteria flourishing on your skin the entire night and you will wake up to zits the next morning so wash those pillow covers ASAP!!
- NOT KEEPING YOUR HAIR OFF YOUR FACE :
Yes you should keep your hair open and flaunt those lovely tresses but better keep them off your face..Our hair is coated with oil naturally secreted by the scalp and if that comes in contact with the skin you may get breakouts.
- NOT REMOVING YOUR MAKE UP :
I know how we hate removing make up after a function or party when we are already very tired but make up if left overnight will clog the pores of your skin giving rise to acne so clean up without fail – never ever go to bed with your make up on.
- TOUCHING YOUR FACE TOO OFTEN :
Many of us have this habit, it isn’t intentional perhaps just a subconscious thing but its time to stop this habit consciously lest you end up transferring all the bacteria on your hand to your face!
- COMEDOGENIC SKIN CARE AND MAKE UP :
Next time you buy a skin care product or a make up product make sure it says ‘non comedogenic’ meaning it won’t clog your pores. Make sure you use products meant for your skin type.
- NOT DRINKING ENOUGH WATER :
If your skin is dehydrated it will secrete more oil to compensate. To avoid this make sure you drink at least 2 liters of water daily.
- MEDICAL DISORDER :
Ladies you could be suffering from polycystic ovarian syndrome which is a medical disorder which is a very common cause of acne these days. Also for very severe acne that are having pus, leaving marks or scars it is a must to consult a doctor.
- MENTAL STRESS :
Stress is one of the leading causes of acne so relax and stay happy.
